Biography
Susan Johnston
Writing has been my passion ever since I won honorable mention in a Cricket magazine contest for my compelling account of a female stowaway on a pirate ship. That was almost fifteen years ago. Since then, I've written many more short stories, press releases, feature articles, and more. Back in high school, I won two National Scholastic Writing Awards, and I still consider "Femesis," my award-winning post-feminist Biblical tale, to be my funniest work to date.

More recently, I've honed my writing skills by studying writing with Media Bistro and Grub Street, as well as earning a Bachelor of Science in Communication from Boston University. In addition to my experience in public relations, copywriting, and project management, I freelance for publications including The Boston Globe, DailyCandy.com, and Self magazine. I have also contributed guest blog posts to The Brazen Careerist, The Budget Fashionista, Employee Evolution, InkThinker, and others. Read about my adventures in writing on my own blog, The Urban Muse.
