Writing has been my passion ever since I won honorable mention in a Cricket magazine contest for my compelling account of a female stowaway on a pirate ship.
More recently, my focus has shifted to non-fiction. After earning a Bachelor of Science in Communication from Boston University, I worked in marketing and public relations for several years while freelancing on the side.
Now, as a full time freelance writer, I've found a job that lets me apply that childlike curiosity and love of language on a daily basis. My writing appears in newspapers, trade publications, blogs, company websites, consumer magazines ... one article was even translated into French and Chinese!
I'm most proud of an essay about father-daughter relationships which is included in the anthology, Chicken Soup for the Soul: Getting In... To College (2008). My Dad passed away just a few months before the book was published, so now the essay has extra significance.
